The sound of a racing keyboard tapped over the sounds of techno music coming from Saydee's laptop. Laughter escaped from her mouth. She couldn't help but laugh at this kid. As she typed a hint that she smoked weed, Saydee was hoping that it would go over well. You could always find people who did drugs, even if they only did grass. It was just a matter of finding those people without upsetting and alerting every one else in the process. When one of your favorite hobbies is illegal, you don't really want to go around sharing your experiences with everyone. And the people who do....they are just posers. The kids who thought that you were cool only because they smoked pot and would tell everyone how they were so blazed last night and what kind of shit they did. The smart people, the people that liked to not have their favorite thing taken away from them, tried to keep it on the down low. Saydee folded a sweatshirt and leaned over to read the response in the chat room.
Success. Someone who shared her enthusiasm.
The dialogue continued while Saydee was still going back between unpacking and the hilarious discussion. She couldn't help but think back to the Carson kid that had been on earlier. What a jackass...probably some rich ass guy who thinks he is too good for anybody. Oh well, at least she had met some pretty cool people. It was weird, Saydee had been preparing herself to take a few days to meet people and get settled, but it seemed like making friends would not be hard here.
Saydee put away the last of one box of clothes and said goodbye to people on chat. Grabbing her pipe and little baggy of sticky greens, she stuffed it all in her leather jacket pocket along with a lighter that lived in that pocket. She had already opened the door of her dorm room when her phone rang. You have got to be kidding me. She took her phone out of her back jean pocket and answered the call. It was her mom. She just knew that her mom would want to talk to her forever. Her parents had dropped her off last night and already her mother had called her three times, just to 'chat'. It was actually really strange, seeing as Saydee and her mother never got along or even talked to each other much. Now that Saydee was away from home, her mother felt the need to check up on her every twenty minutes.
As she gave the automatic answers to her mother, Saydee checked back up on the chat room. She had to make sure Kholden knew that she wasn't just standing him up or something. That wouldn't be such a great first impression. Damn, that fucking Carson was on again and had gotten Saiga all worked up as well. Saydee always tried to keep an open mind about people but this kid wasn't doing anything to help her out.
"Mom, I gotta go!" Saydee said frantically into the phone before saying a quick goodbye and hanging up the phone. She had heard about the empty-nesters syndrome but she had never really thought it would get this bad. Pushing her phone back into her pocket, she made sure she had her key and finally got out the door. She was glad that the girls and the boys dorms rooms were right next to each other on campus. She hadn't gotten a chance to walk around yet and just knew that she would have gotten terribly lost if she had to navigate too much.
With no trouble, she found room forty and took a breath. Most girls would be nervous, meeting a guy at his dorm room, just them. Maybe Saydee was a little bit too chill about everything but she really didn't think anything about it. She wasn't nervous about meeting new people and she knew that she could defend herself if he turned out to be a complete weirdo.
"Open the fucking door." She said in a low voice as she knocked. Saydee was an extremely sarcastic person and for people who didn't really get it, they usually thought she was the meanest person ever.
